Guerlain Meteorites Illuminating Pressed Powder Review

I received Guerlain's Meteorites a while back in a swap and never got around to doing a review till now. I remember not having much to say about it when I first tried it out. First of all, I received Mythic Parfait 01 in the swap and it was probably the wrong shade for me. I think Rose Frais 02 would have been a better match for my skin tone. On a different note, it's too bad the powder doesn't come with some kind of applicator.

The latest member of the Meteorites family, Guerlain Meteorites Pearls Compact draws its inspiration from the classic pearl. This high-tech powder accentuates light, conceals blemishes, and brings out radiance, without shine.

What else you need to know:
Each compact contains an array of four complementary shades that create a luminous glow, the correcting color in the center can be used to conceal redness, cover blemishes, or tone down dark undereye circles. Swirl on the corresponding matte and pearlescent hues to touch up your look with a subtle iridescence.





Maybe I just don't like to apply a lot of makeup or something but I remember sweeping this powder over my skin at least three times if not more and still not being able to see any radiant change in my skin. Then again, perhaps I should try the color that is more fitting for my skin tone...


For a while, I also tried using Benefit's High Beam to highlight or bring a glow to my face. I must admit, I still consider myself a complete makeup newbie. I couldn't find any information regarding techniques on how to use High Beam so I tried a few different methods. One included mixing it into my moisturizer and applying it all over my face. Another was to just use it to highlight the bridge of my nose or my cheeks. Honestly, I never noticed a difference in the luminosity of my skin or anything.

I would like to try Benefit's Moon Beam though since it has more of a yellow/golden tint rather than High Beam's pink tint, which may be a bit more suiting for my skin tone.
