AKB48's official blog has just formally announced their AKB48 Unit Matsuri, to be held on January 23, 2012. This event is intended to follow directly after their annual Request Hour Setlist 100 Best event.
Further details are yet to come, and will be posted on their website. However, it does appears that the Request Hour event will exclude subunit songs, in deference to the Unit Matsuri event.
I, for one, am super excited that subunits are getting their own special event, but that's just because I love all the subunits so much. I'm really excited to see what the performance will be like!!
