Nakamata Shiori Co-authors an Economics Book

Team 4's Nakamata Shiori will be writing an Economics Books with Sugashita Kiyohiro who's an author as well as a international finance consultant. The book will be released on June 13 and priced at 1,260 yen.

Nakamatta is the member who got into Waseda University last year, one of the elite Universities in Japan and a magazine recently did a ranking of 48 member's high school entrance exam scores in which Nakamtta was the 2nd highest.

Got to hand it to her, she has theater performances plus keeping up her grades. And now this? I wonder how she manages. One thing is for sure, even after AKB48 Nakamatta will have a firm future without any doubt.

Deciphering the AKB48 Official Diary 2012-2013

AKB48's [Official Diary 2012-2013] book was released on Friday, March 23, 2012. In the diary were profiles and more information of all AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, and even JKT48 members.

Also in the diary was a calendar that showed all the birthdays of those members and other important dates. But upon closer inspection, they have also included a number of strange codes with possible hidden meanings. The dates and codes of some of these matches with important dates in AKB48, like their 7 year anniversary on 12/8.

Most of the rest though were not so easy to figure out, and that's where you come in! See if you can help decipher those codes.

Nakaya Sayaka to Publish an Autobiography [Non-Senbatsu Idol]

Nakaya Sayaka will publish an autobiography [Non-Senbatsu Idol] on April 2nd. She is the first member of the 48 groups to publish an autobiography.

Nakayan was one of the 13,000 people who entered the 3rd Generation AKB48 audition in December 2006. She passed the audition and debuted with Team B on stage in April 2007. She was moved to Team A following the team shuffle in August 2009.

Since Nakayan entered AKB48 6 years ago, she did not rank within the Top 40 in any of the 3 Senbatsu Elections. In the autobiography she describes her feelings regarding the situation, and how she managed to eventually look at this and find it "amusing".

Even without being a Senbatsu member in AKB48, Nakayan has already distinguished herself through voice acting for an animated version of Moshidora, as well as Neptune MK2, a role-playing game on Playstation 3. She will also be a voice actor in AKB0048, an animation about AKB48 in future.

The book also describes the difficult life of an Idol behind the scenes, and how Nakayan was able to find a comfortable place for herself after overcoming the hardships. The central theme of the book is "Send a positive message for all the 'Non-Senbatsu' people in real life".

Maeda Atsuko To Release New Photobook [Bukiyou]

Maeda Atsuko will release a new photobook on March 16th, 2012. Titled [Bukiyou] (不器用 / Clumsy), it will go on sale for 1,800yen.

Bukiyou is Acchan's 5th photobook, and is taken in Paris, France. It's also her 3rd PB that is shot overseas; she previously went to Hawaii and New York to shoot her 2nd and 4th photobooks respectively

The photobook will include full-length photographs of Acchan taking a walk along the Seine, riding the metro, living in an apartment for the first time, walking around Champs-Elysées at night, and enjoying Paris in general. Some previews of the PB are available below.

She insisted on going to Paris last year as a celebration for turning 20 - this is a Maeda Atsuko that is different and more private than what we've seen of her.  There is no "this smile is Acchan as AKB48" or "this look is Acchan as herself", as this photobook contains a lot of her natural, "clumsy" self.  But as a bonus, she will still be showing quite a bit of skin in some sexy photos.

SKE48's Matsui Rena to release her first photo book

SKE48's Matsui Rena will release her first Photo Book titled [Kingyo] on March 1st. The photo book is also a first from a SKE member. The photobook is priced at 1500yen.

The whole concept of the PB is "What if Rena wasn't an idol?". There are some stunning pictures of her, the cover itself depicts her in a fish bowl as "Kingyo" means goldfish.

New AKB48 photobook [AKB48 Twenty-Four Hours]

Do you have a glasses fetish? If so, then you are in luck! AKB48 will be releasing a new photobook [AKB48 Twenty-Four Hours] full of nothing but girls wearing glasses.

Only 16 members will be featured in the photobook, and they are:
Team A: Kojima Haruna, Maeda Atsuko, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, Takahashi Minami, Takajo Aki
Team K: Itano Tomomi, Minegishi Minami, Miyazawa Sae, Oshima Yuko,  Yokoyama Yui

Shinoda Mariko to produce her own magazine [Mariko Magazine]

Remember when Itano Tomomi "produced" her own photobook? Well Shinoda Mariko has bigger plans than than that. As one of the most visible members of AKB48, especially given her height and looks, Mariko-sama will be chief editor of her own fashion magazine titled [Mariko Magazine] to be released October 28.

Fans have been speculating about a graduation for a long time. Mariko is the oldest member of AKB48 at age 25, she is extremely popular outside of the idol group, and is busy with modeling gigs, variety shows, and occasional acting job. So busy in fact, that she barely attends AKB48 stage performances right now. Perhaps this is preparing her for something bigger. And hey, 1st generation graduate Kawazaki Nozomi opened her own nail salon and started her own apparel brand. Maybe Mariko will take a similar path. Preorders are available on amazon.
