'Twilight' actress Nikki Reed is reportedly dating 'American Idol' hopeful Paul McDonald.

According to E! Online, Reed has been calling McDonald her "boyfriend" and the two have been keeping in close contact via Skype.

This is due to the fact that the young actress is busy filming 'Breaking Dawn' and McDonald is still one of the finalists competing on 'Idol.'

The couple first met when the Top 13 'Idol' finalists were taken to see 'Red Riding Hood' in early March. Reed met McDonald and complimented his singing saying, "You're amazing. I'm blushing, I should go."

Once Reed was out of earshot, McDonald asked the 'Idol' camera crew, "Was she a famous actress or something? I'd hang out with her!"

Looks like the couple have been 'hanging' out ever since.

This is the second romance that has blossomed in the 'Idol' house. Earlier this month it was reported that contestants Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart were quite the cozy couple off-stage.

'Twilight' Star Nikki Reed Officially Dating 'Idol' Castoff Paul McDonald

The rumors are true! 'American Idol' contestant Paul McDonald is dating 'Twilight' star Nikki Reed, UsMagazine.com reports. McDonald confirmed the news after getting the boot on Thursday night's results show.

And though they are "officially dating," the latest 'Idol' castoff admits the couple doesn't "get to see each other too much because [they're] both working so hard."

"[Nikki's] supercool," the 26-year-old singer gushed. "She's been real supportive of this whole thing. She's actually pumped up now because she likes my original material way better than all the stuff I do on the show."

He also told the magazine that he and Reed hit it off immediately: "It was weird. I haven't ever actually watched any of her movies. I don't know too much of her career at all, but the person she is is super cool."

As for the other rumored 'Twilight' and 'Idol' romance between Taylor Lautner and Lauren Alaina, McDonald wouldn't reveal much. "I don't know. I think he's just a fan of Idol in general. He seems like a really cool dude. I don't know too much about that," he said.
