AKB48's Iwasa Misaki to Debut as an Enka Singer

AKB48 Team A member Iwasa Misaki will be debuting as a solo singer next year. And not just a solo singer, but an enka solo singer.

Wasamin's solo single, currently still [TBA], will be released on February 1st, 2012, under Tokuma Japan Communications. In addition to the single, she will also be part of Nagara Production's [Shinshun Enka Matsuri] concert.

Wasamin will be the 5th solo singer in AKB48 after Ohori Megumi, Oku Manami, Itano Tomomi and Maeda Atsuko. And the third from AKB48 using her own name. (Ohori Megumi debuted under Ohori Meshibe, and Oku Manami debuted under Ogu Manami). She will also be the first enka singer from AKB!

It's about time! I was waiting for this ever since Wasamin got transfered to the Nagara Pro agency, which specialises in Enka singers. I'm just happy for her. She's known to be skilled at enka singing, and has proved her skill several times in the past. Congrats Wasamin! I hope your single does well!
