Etude House 55 Kissful Tint Chou Review

I love lip balms, glosses, tints, all those sorts. (Not too big on lipsticks yet. The ones I've tried haven't been moisturizing enough for me.) All the reasons why I decided to purchase Etude's Kissful Tint Chou.

Etude House 55 Kissful Tint Chou comes in 4 colors:
01 Red Chou
02 Pink Chou
03 Strawberry Chou
04 Tangerine Chou

I decided to try out 01 Red Chou.

As per visual directions (since I can't read Korean), all you have to do is apply three dots on your lower lip, pucker up, and you're good to go! Sometimes I add a few more dabs if I'd like some more tint.

Etude's Kissful Tint Chou comes in a nice squeeze tube. You only need to squeeze ever so gently to get a little, which is really all you need. A little goes such a long way with this product!

Bare lips.

With Etude House 55 Kissful Tint Chou applied.

Pros
- Nice buildable color.
- Easy to use tube application.

Cons
- Staying power isn't that great. Tint doesn't really seem to sink into my lips.
- Not moisturizing but it is just a tint.

Verdict: Would definitely purchase again. I'd love to try the other colors if ever possible! :)

Jennifer Aniston Updos | Classic Hairstyles

It's not very often that you see Jennifer Aniston wearing an updo hairstyle.  Typically she will be wearing her signature long layered hairstyle with waves mixed throughout for a beautiful look.

We love this style on Jennifer! This look is a fabulous upstyle which is very soft on the face and features a beautiful bun that has been styled neatly to the side. This look will suit most face shapes and is perfect for all occasions.

Here Jen has opted for extreme length for her lovely locks. This is a fabulous option for softening larger facial features as the feathery texture of the layering creates length in the face. This cut is best suited to medium to thick hair typesSee more Jennifer Aniston Hairstyles

Adventures in Lip Balm Making

Attempt #1: Caudalie Lip Conditioner & Etude House 55 Kissful Tint Chou

Right when I was about to start my Caudalie Lip Conditioner review, it broke off! I had just gotten it too. ;_; Imagine the sound Phil from Modern Family made when Claire didn't wake up early enough to buy an iPad for him. That was what I sounded like.

Anyway, I surfed the net for information on how to "salvage broken lipstick" because that was about as close as I could get to my minor dilemma. I found a cool YouTube video featuring a product called LipstixRemix but I didn't feel like waiting to fix this. Then I found an interesting post by Elizabeth of My Beauty Spot on how to make tinted lip balm using your stove or hair straightener. I opted for my stove.

My list of supplies:
- medium sized silver spoon
- tin to pour lip balm in
- Caudalie Lip Conditioner
- Etude House 55 Kissful Tint Chou
- Oven mitts

First I put the remnants of my Caudalie Lip Conditioner into the medium sized spoon. Using a cotton swab, I scooped out the rest of the balm onto the spoon. Using the middle section of the cotton swab, I broke up the lip balm into smaller pieces so that it would melt faster.

Squeezed out some Etude House 55 Kissful Tint Chou onto the lip conditioner.

After putting on my oven mitt, I held the spoon over the stove top, rolling the balm around so that it wouldn't burn at the bottom.

Finally, the lip conditioner had melted all the way but the lip tint hadn't yet. I wanted to wait until the lip tint had melted all the way but I think that was a bad deicison. My concoction started smoking. O_O

If I ever attempt this again, I think I'll pour the concoction into my container once the lip balm is melted and then I can just mix the tint up with a cotton swab.

After pouring the liquid mix of lip conditioner and lip tint into my tin, I noticed a stench in the air. I think I burnt it. :/ I wanted to finish everything though so i placed the tin into the freezer.

Here you can see grits on spoon, after I've poured out the melted lip conditioner and tint. Perhaps that's the burnt part?

A few minutes passed and upon looking at my DIY attempt, it was solid! Exciting. Then I took a whiff of it. Not so exciting. The original Caudalie lip conditioner smelled like vanilla. This is a burnt version of that. Not good.

I do like how solid the balm turned out. I can swish my finger around in it and it won't collapse in the middle like some jelly-like balms might. The scent is all that bothers me. I guess I shouldn't cook it as long next time.

*Edit* I coudn't do with the smell of the balm. I ended up emptying out the contents. Round 2 it is.

Soapalaya Soaps Powder Puffs

A while back, I stumbled upon SoapalayaSoaps thanks to Catherine of Strawberry Mochi. I ordered a few blended soaps from Soapalaya and fell in love. My favorite scent from the shop is Basmati Rice. I love showering with it because it fills the entire room and surrounding area with such a luxurious scent. It's to die for, seriously. I couldn't wait for Alex (of Soapalaya) to release a perfume version one day. Thankfully, she has now! I'm definitely going to be purchasing a Basmati Rice version for myself asap! I'm so excited! :D

Anyway, what I really wanted to blog about was her beautifully handcrafted powder puffs. Aren't they gorgeous??

Here is her Elegant Cream Moire Satin Powder Puff with Pearls set. I think it's so cute and dainty. I love the touch of pearls in the center.

Love the big ribbon on this Square Taffeta set.

I imagine my friend T would "la-la-love" this one, as she always says. It kind of reminds me of Minnie Mouse. Haha.

Isn't the fabric on this one just lovely?

Does anyone use powder puffs or dusting powder? What is the main function behind these? Is it like a powder version of perfume, sort of? I was trying to figure these things out so that I could find a reason to buy one, if not simply for the gorgeous-ness. :)

The colorful packaging is really fun and the sayings are so cute - for example "I'm Not Here, I'm Really Walking The Red Carpet," "I'm Not Here, I'm Really at The Spa," or "I'm Not Here, I'm really at The Country Club." They make great gifts, especially for those that can't get away for a summer vacation/long weekend...at least this might bring a smile to their face! Jump for details on the collection and scents!

Twirl by Kate Spade New York

kate_spade_twirl.jpg

Through all its ups and downs, I have to admire Kate Spade for maintaining an unwavering air of sheer giddy femininity. Think colored tights and sparkly heels, festive fĂȘtes and tables for two. The same ideals of celebration are beautifully wrapped up in the brand's new signature scent--its first major fragrance launch since 2002. As the press notes describe, this scent, created by Givaudan, is a true joie de vivre; floral lovers will love the feeling of being transported to a garden in bloom following a light mist--infused with a twist of fresh fruit. Among the notes are: pink watermelon, blackberry red currant, heart of orange blossom, star jasmine, tiare flower, sweet magnolia, drying down to musk and French macaroon. Yum!

The collection, launching nationwide in September, will include a 3.4 oz. eau de parfum, a 0.24 oz. roller ball, body cream, lotion and shower gel, ranging in price from $35 to $80
