So this was originally supposed to be a continuation of my Paula's Choice 1% Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Lotion Part 1 Review but I ended up exchanging the product for the 2% Liquid version after a month because I wasn't seeing any reliable results. Read on for my review!
I opted to exchange it for Paula's Choice 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Liquid instead because my friend simply raves about it. I know I don't have Normal to Very Oily Skin (more like simply Normal skin for me, at the time) but I decided that I'd just use it a lot less than the suggested "dosage." That didn't end up happening but I've still gotten really good results. Results that I'm really, really happy with.
I've been using it for about 2-3 weeks now. I haven't been keeping perfect track of everything.
My first impressions of the product were:
+ I love how it simply soaks into my skin. I can just pat it on unlike the lotion where I have to rub it in for a while.
+ Doesn't leave me looking too shiny or oily. I use it at night though so I'm not too aware of how it makes my skin look.
+ Faint scent. Nothing horrible though.
One downside is the nozzle. It seems like there could be a better way to dispense the product. Perhaps a pump would be better? When I tilt the current bottle to pour it into my hands, there is always at least a bit of wasted product. Yes, the little hole keeps all the liquid from simply pouring out but when I tilt the bottle to its upright position, liquid drips down the top surface of the, for lack of better words, "flat nozzle," and down the side of the bottle. Paula's Choice actually sells pumps on their website but I didn't read any good reviews about them so I decided against purchasing one.
I use a little more than this amount to cover my entire face. This was good enough to cover my forehead, nose, and just some parts of my cheeks. I only use the product at night. And I always try and make sure I remember to buy on moisturizer afterwards or else I'll wake up with the skin on my face feeling quite tight since this is for those with Normal-Oily skin and I have Normal at the time.
Besides the minor nozzle issue, I am seriously loving this product. About 2 weeks into using it, I noticed a major change in my the clarity of my skin (and I had made sure to change nothing else in my normal skin care routine). As of right now (it's probably around 3 weeks of usage right now), my skin is pimple free and bump-less! Whaaat. I haven't had a bump/pimple free forehead in forever. At LEAST last year, seriously. My forehead (my main problem area) is smoooooooooth. It's amazing! Now, I just have to deal with the scars from previous pimples. I am in love love love with this product. :)
If anyone wants to try the Paula's Choice 2% BHA Gel (not liquid but still 2%), I have two samples to give out. :)
