[NEWS] New KBS Idol Singer Reality Show, Changmin, Junsu

Following the success of the reality show "I'm A Singer" featuring singers that are mainly known for their vocals and staying power in the music industry comes a new KBS show!

It will be called "Immortal Song 2", following "Immortal Song" which aired in 2007-2009. The first season involved renowned Korean artists to teach various entertainers how to sing their top hit songs. This upcoming season will follow a similar concept involving all idol stars. Basically, idol stars will sing the songs of veteran singers and then be judged by the original, legendary singers themselves. Every week, viewers will be able to see if these idol stars improve or not. The difference between "Immortal Song 2" and "I'm A Singer" will be that participants will not be eliminated.

Three main factors the show will aim to follow is to first, focus mainly on singing and no other entertaining talents. Second, the stars will not be allowed to imitate the original singers, but must sing each song in their own way. Lastly, the vibe of the show won't be stressful so the contestants must have fun and not let the competition get to them and bring them down.

The final list of featured stars was released on May 4th through the producer Kwon Jae-yong's twitter account. TVXQ's (op's note: kbs world made a mistake on this part. It's 2AM's Changmin not TVXQ. They even used 2AM Changmin's photo for the article.) 2AM's Changmin, SISTAR's Hyorin, Beast's Yoseop, miss A's Min, Super Junior's Yesung, and solo artist IU will participate with a song by Shim Soo-bong. Originally, SHINee's Jong-hyun was thought to have also been one of the featured idol stars, but conflicting schedules prevented this from happening. There's also still a possibility that 2PM's Jun-su may be added to the lineup later.

The first recording will be shot on May 16th with the pilot episode slated to air in June.

It is an idol version of the of Happy Sunday. As the original one re-introduced old hit songs by sunbae singers, idol singers will sing old-time hit songs and the sunbae singers will decide the winner. The point seems to be how well they interpret the old songs in their own styles.

KBS Kwon Jaeyoung PD said, “I got goosebumps watching idol singers in last year’s Gayo Grand Festival. There are so many good idol singers. I think it is good for both singers and viewers to have a program that offers a chance to listen to their songs.”

As to the view that the program format is similar to that of of MBC Sunday Night, he said, “If you expect to see an idol version of , you’ll be disappointed. For there is no ranking or elimination in the . I think there is no measuring music in scores.” Idol singers have been labeled “3 Second Singers” as they have to share parts with other members in a big group. This will be a good chance for them to prove their singing ability.

How did the cast idol singers respond to the suggestion? Kwon PD says (2AM Changmin part not translated), the responses were divided. It is true that it can be a burden to the singers who are already loved by the public. But it is expected they will be able to focus on their performances without the pressure of a survival game. Besides the singers mentioned above, CN Blue Jeong Yonghwa, FT Island Lee Hongki, Super Junior Kyuhyun and Yesung have expressed their intention to participate in the program. He added, “This will be a good chance for fans to watch their idols grow up through the program.”

[NEWS] JYJ Kim Junsu’s Suwon Uniform Auction Surpassed 1 Million Won Bid!

The uniform of Suwon Bluewings FC MEN leader Kim Junsu which was put into ‘Auction of Love’ held by Suwon Bluewings has exceeded 1 million won value.

Suwon Bluewings FC MEN official uniform worn by Kim Junsu in the last 15th game has been in process of auctioning for ‘Auction of Love’.

When Kim Junsu’s uniform was put into auction on April 18th at 15:00 at Suwon Nine homepage, the value started with 30,000 won, and by April 22nd at 18:00 the price has reached 1 million won. Once the auction meets its deadline tomorrow on April 23rd at 17:00, it’s expected that the price will be exceeding 1 million won.

The uniform auction will be held until April 23rd at 17:00 and the full amount of final bid will be donated to community welfare in Gyeonggi-do under name of Kim Junsu and the final auction winner.

Kim Junsu will also continue to participate in future social contribution events held by Suwon Nine.

Suwon is set to have a home game against Gyeongnam FC for Hyundai Oil Bank K-League 2011 at Suwon World Cup Stadium on April 24th at 19:30. While before the main game, at 17:00 FC MEN will hold an opening game against women soccer team Incheon Design High School.

In addition, before the end of half time of game against Gyeongnam, Kim Junsu will sign autographs and take picture together with 4 lucky people including the highest bidder as well as 3 other winners to express his gratitude towards them.

The opening game will be first introduction of FC MEN members soccer skill in front of their fans, all idol members of the team such as Kim Junsu, Kim Hyun-joong, Yoon Do-joon, Im Seulong are expected to participate.

[News] Former MBC Producer Reveals Talented Singer List – Includes IU, Junsu And Taeyeon

I am a Singer is a TV show that provides the stage for singers to showcase their true potential.

Recently, I am a Singer‘s former producer, Kim Younghee, revealed his personal “talented singers” list in an interview. The list includes IU, JYJ’s Kim Junsu and SNSD’s Taeyeon. Previously an online community website uploaded comparison picture of Junsu’s cat Leo and Kim Junsu himself.

The uploader put the picture of young Junsu in similar expression to his cat named Leo which he’s compared to. There was also a picture of Junsu sleeping in the same position as the cat.

Netizens who saw the pictures responded, “The similarity with the cat gains 100 percent score,” and “Master and his pet cats, they become alike to each other”

According to member Jaejoong, Junsu started to raise cats because of him and currently he’s been living with 6 cats in his house.

During JYJ’s first fan meeting held in Jamsil Gymnasium, Seoul on March 12th at 15:00, Kim Junsu attracted audiences’ attention by talking about his fellow Park Yoochun’s girlfriend named Seolinja whom he’s been so boastful about.
