[News] SHINee Jonghyun, 2PM Junsu, 2AM Changmin, Beast Yoseob, Sistar Hyorin battle!!

SHINee’s Jonghyun, 2PM’s Junsu, 2AM’s Changmin, B2AST’s Yoseop, and Sistar Hyorin will have singing battles in a program. The title of this program to be aired on Saturday in KBS 2TV is . It is an idol version of the of Happy Sunday. As the original one re-introduced old hit songs by sunbae singers, idol singers will sing old-time hit songs and the sunbae singers will decide the winner. The point seems to be how well they interpret the old songs in their own styles.

KBS Kwon Jaeyoung PD said, “I got goosebumps watching idol singers in last year’s Gayo Grand Festival. There are so many good idol singers. I think it is good for both singers and viewers to have a program that offers a chance to listen to their songs.”

As to the view that the program format is similar to that of of MBC Sunday Night, he said, “If you expect to see an idol version of , you’ll be disappointed. For there is no ranking or elimination in the . I think there is no measuring music in scores.” Idol singers have been labeled “3 Second Singers” as they have to share parts with other members in a big group. This will be a good chance for them to prove their singing ability.

How did the cast idol singers respond to the suggestion? Kwon PD says (2AM Changmin part not translated), the responses were divided. It is true that it can be a burden to the singers who are already loved by the public. But it is expected they will be able to focus on their performances without the pressure of a survival game. Besides the singers mentioned above, CN Blue Jeong Yonghwa, FT Island Lee Hongki, Super Junior Kyuhyun and Yesung have expressed their intention to participate in the program. He added, “This will be a good chance for fans to watch their idols grow up through the program.”

will be aired in May~June. For better performances, the stage will have a live band. The program will also show the back stage scenes of idols arranging and practicing their songs.

[News] From Seaweed Monster To Thomas… Hilarious Nicknames For Stars

When looking at nicknames that fans have made for their favorite stars, we can gauge the fans interest in them. For idols especially, being called by their nickname is much more common than being called by their real name and the stories that lead up to the birth of these nicknames are different for each star. Some nicknames are derived from the stars’ names while others come from the stars’ character or talent. We’ve put together the most intriguing nicknames that are filled with the love and mischief of fans.

(omitted)

◆Emphasizing a talent or characteristic…
JYJ’s Kim Junsu(25) is called ‘Dolphin’ by his fans. The nickname was made based on a comparison between Kim Junsu’s vocal talent and that of the dolphin, with the mammal’s ability to produce sound waves too high in frequency for humans to hear. The nickname was created due to the singer’s vocal range that easily encompasses high notes. Recently, Kim Junsu was deemed the most vocally talented idol member in a survey and fans responded to this with the compliment, “Our dolphin boy Kim Junsu has done it again.”

(omitted)

◆Coming from their looks… ‘It’s possible’
JYJ’s Park Yoochun(25) was the target of many fans’ complaints when he decided to grow his hair out to a length that made it seem somewhat shaggy and bushy. Many fans commented on his wavy, long hairstyle and said, “It reminds me of seaweed,” thus giving birth to the nickname ‘Seaweed monster’. When he returned to a more neat and short hairstyle, it became such a hot topic that the words ‘Park Yoochun’s haircut’ became one of the most searched phrases on a popular portal site.

[News] Gain hastily confesses her love to Doojoon?

The 111th episode of MBC daily sitcom’s “All My Love” (Writer: Park Min Jung, Director: Gang Young Sun, Hwang Gyo Jin) that took place on April 27th portrayed Geum Ji (Son Ga In) confessing her genuine love to Do Jun.

Soon Deok had a fake date with Do Jun but grew exhausted as Do Jun didn’t open his heart. She talked to him with anger, “Let’s stop this nonsense fake date.”

Learning that Do Joon and Soon Deok were arguing, Geum Ji felt lost because she wanted to be in a relationship with Do Joon. However, she decided to gather up her mind and help them reconcile together.

Hence Geum Ji called Do Jun and Soon Deok to a bar, suggesting a “love shot” and saying “Why don’t you guys just drinking this beer and make up?” After fixing those two up, Geum Ji was on her way back home on the bus when the radio DJ’s voice caught her attention.

“Are you doing something foolish like missing someone whom you love due to your pride? Confess your feelings to him/her with courage before you regret.”

Upon hearing this, Geum Ji determined she would stop missing Do Jun and headed back to him.

However, Do Jun was carrying Soon Deok when Geum Ji arrived. Geum Ji just stood staring at them without taking any further steps. This cris-crossed relationship between Geum Ji and Do Jun seems to irritate viewers.

As soon as the episode was over, viewers commented on an online community board saying things like “Geum Ji finally decided to confess her feelings but did not because of Soon Deok… it makes me irritated” as well as “Soon Deok and Do Jun’s fake date should draw back. I hope Do Jun and Geum Ji develop a closer relationship.”
