SKE48 transfers parent company to AKS

Sorry for the late post. Was not feeling too well.

Since SKE48's formation in July of 2008, the group and their promotional activities had been managed by Pythagoras Productions. After 3 long years with their former agency, SKE transferred to AKS, the 48 family's primary management branch, on October 31st, not long after their label switch.

So what is in store for the girls of SKE48? Will they form sub-units, be signed individually to agencies just like the AKB48 members, and appear in more promotions with their sister group? Perhaps this move will prove to be strategic as AKS will handle SKE's activities in the same manner as they did AKB's right down to the tee. Frankly, I see both upsides and downsides to these actions; there are things that Pythagoras did right with the group, or just downright better than how AKS handled AKB. W Matsui will never disappear from AKB48 singles, and we may well see more featured SKE girls, particularly in the b-sides. Extensive promotions with AKS may lead to a bump in popularity, but I hope that this does not mean that SKE48 will lose their original flavor; they possess an intangible quality that makes them stand heads and tails above the rest of the 48 family. I wish these girls all the best with their new agency!
